Third-cycle studies

Third-cycle studies - Doctoral studies at the Faculty of Philosophy of Ignatianum University in Cracow last four years and end with an examination in the basic scientific discipline, an additional discipline and a modern foreign language, as well as the defense of the doctoral dissertation. The studies are conducted in the form specified by the Act of 27 July, 2005 – Law on Higher Education (with a later amendment) and the regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 12 December, 2013 concerning doctoral studies and scholarships. Third-cycle studies in Ignatianum are conducted in the field of humanities, including two disciplines – cultural studies and philosophy. The aim of doctoral studies is to gain advanced knowledge  in a particular field or discipline and prepare oneself for independent, creative research.
